This is the Tool Box Page. It's a collection of stuff I use and recommend for building web pages. Feel free to plunder and pillage for your own usage, that's what it's here for! There are tools to download, links to check out, tips to be taken.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
    This is an essential file used to read Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files. Many of the online documents you receive during this couse will be in PDF format, so you'll need this program to read them.

  • The Online HTML Course
    This is a nice online HTML course which you can download and work through the examples. This is downloaded as a ZIP file and contains a few sections of materials in PDF format.

  • The Online Java Script Course
    This is a nice online Java Script course which you can download and work through the examples. This is downloaded as a ZIP file and contains a few sections of materials in PDF format.

  • The Online PhotoShop 5.5 Course
    This is a nice online PhotoShop 5.5 course which you can download and work through the examples. This is downloaded as a ZIP file and contains a few sections of materials in PDF format.

  • The BoreBones Guide To HTML
    This is the most comprehensive and updated collection of HTML tags and their definitions out there today. It's indespensible for new web developer when just getting started. This is downloaded as a ZIP file and contains a few sections of materials.

  • PGP Freeware Version 555
    This is the Pretty good Privacy freeware version 5 for the PC (Only). It's very useful for encrypting messages between people and we will be using this in class. [Note: It's 4MB Download so be patient.]

  • WinZip
    This is an essential file used to archive/unarchive the rest of the stuff you'll be getting. It's a self extracting executable, just download, run and use.

  • WinFTP
    This is an FTP program which lets you transfer files back and forth to the web server. An Absolutely essential file.

  • HomeSite
    This is a recommended HTML editor. You can download a better copy from their website at http://www.allaire.com/. It's my favorite editor, be sure to get the help files if you download it from their site.

  • LviewPro
    Great visual editor, great for doing transparancies with graphics, which you will want to do eventually.

  • HotSpots
    Wonderful image map editor. Let's you take pictures and place hotspots on them which map to web addresses. Very useful tool.

  • Paintshop Pro
    Download this from their site, you will need this for graphics editing.

  • TermPlus
    For all you UNIX geeks out there, here's a terminal program (one fo the best) which allow you to log into the server and execute command line UNIX commands. Useful if you want to run cgi-scripts or create custom programs.

    This site has usefult tools in addition to HTML editors.

  • Everything you need to surf the net for free!
    Just as the title says!

  • O'Reilly Software
    O'Reilly Books are the best in the market for Web development and systems understanding. Their siftware is just as good.

  • The Bare Bones Guide to HTML
    A good online HTML Reference.

  • The HTML Reference Library
    Good reference Library for developers.

  • The Web Developers Virtual Library
    As the title says!

  • The Web Developers ToolBox.
    Good starting point for procuring tools and techniques.

  • Windows Web Development Tools Archive
    Archive of Windows Internet Development Tools.

  • Great Perl CGI Scripts from Selena Sol
    I use these scripts extensively. They are not for the faint of heart, weekend warrior wantabe programmer. If you can program, and want to use these, I'll help you. His stuff is reasonably easy to use, and very functional. Your server setup allows you to use these scripts.

  • Ready to go CGI Scripts.
    Another example of good freeware scripts.

  • Creating web graphics
    Good intro to the idea of web graphics.

  • Jelanes Free Web Graphics
    Good place to start for coordinated web graphics.

  • The basics of adding 3D Graphics to your web site.
    Just as the title says!

  • Using PaintShop Pro for creating Great Web Graphics: A Tutorial
    Again, as the title says! A good resource, check it out!

  • Kathy's Web Graphics
    Another Set Collection of web graphics, check em out, they look useful.
